Cat mom mug

A cat mom mug starring their cat

By the Photoshoot Pets team · Updated November 1, 2026

It’s 5:12 a.m. A paw taps her face. Then a second paw. Then something gets knocked off the nightstand, on purpose, while eye contact is maintained. She gets up and feeds the cat anyway, because she’s a cat mom and this is the deal. The least we can do is give her a cat mom mug with that exact cat on it for the coffee that comes after.

Fair warning: the cat may try to push this mug off the counter too. Hold on tight.

Cats on mugs, as nature intended

How it works

  1. Upload a photo of her cat. We take the background out.
  2. Choose Color, Black & white or Sketch. For a studio-quality portrait, tap ✨ Studio Enhance™ and keep the cat’s real expression, or give a smile a try.
  3. Add a name, like “Cat Mom” or “Mochi’s Mom”.
  4. See it on the mug, then order.

Matching the style to her cat

Coat color matters more than you’d think. Orange tabbies, calicos and tortoiseshells look their best in Color, because all those patches and stripes are the whole point. Flip them to Black & white and you lose what makes them them.

Tuxedo cats and gray cats, on the other hand, look sharp in Black & white. It gives them that classic film-star portrait vibe they already think they have. Sketch is lovely for long-haired cats, since the pencil-style lines pick up all that floof without it turning into a blob.

And if her only good photo has the cat squinting into a lamp? That’s when ✨ Studio Enhance™ earns its keep. Keep the cat’s real look and it cleans up into a studio-style portrait. We’ll be honest, though, a smiling cat is a bit of a stretch for some faces. Try it and decide. Some cats pull it off, others look like they’re planning your downfall.

Little reasons to give one

Her work-from-home coworker

The cat attends every meeting. Usually by walking across the keyboard and muting her. A mug with the cat on it is basically the employee-of-the-month award, and they both know who earned it.

Mother’s Day from the cat

Let’s be honest, the cat was never going to get her anything. So you step in. A “Luna’s Mom” mug says it on the cat’s behalf, minus the hairball.

The new cat mom who adopted a senior

Older cats from the shelter are the sweetest gamble. She gave a gray-chinned old guy a sunny windowsill. A Black & white portrait suits those wise old faces, and it’s a lovely way to mark the day he came home.

Two cats, two mugs

Each mug holds one cat. If she has a pair, make one for each so nobody is left out, which is a real risk with cats who already keep score at dinner.

A thank-you for the cat sitter

The friend who came by twice a day, scooped the litter box and sent a photo of the cat sulking by the door. She’s a cat mom too, just on loan. A mug with your cat on it means she gets to keep a little piece of the job she secretly loved.

Quick answers

Can I add “Cat Mom” and the cat’s name?
Yes, as long as it fits in the one name field. “Cat Mom · Mochi” or “Mochi’s Mom” both read nicely.
Can the cat be printed on both sides?
Yes. Mugs can print on both sides, so lefties and righties both get the cat facing them.
My cat is fluffy. Will the fur look cut off?
We remove the background around the whole cat, fluff included. Check the preview, and if a different photo looks better, swap it before you order.
Is the mug dishwasher safe?
Yes. It’s 11 oz white ceramic with a glossy finish, and it’s dishwasher and microwave safe.
